»A surprised and unexpected 2023
Sunday, March 10, 2024

Its March 2024, sitting in the living(bed)room recollecting about how my 2023 went by.
2023's highlight (initially) was the Blackpink's concert in May; as it was my first ever concert overseas. And as it turns out just few days before the concert I found out that I was expecting! The biggest surprise and highlight of my 2023  nevertheless. 😊

Apart from the food aversion in the early trimester, the pregnancy was quite an easy one I would admit. I'm one of the blessed one as I've been told with such smooth pregnancy and I'm very grateful for that. Was able to enjoy the concert in Singapore and it was a blast! I was able to join my company's trip to Hong Kong in July- during summer! Had to forgo my October trip to Osaka, but that's inevitable so had a quick birthday trip to KK instead.

Due date was suppose to be in early Jan, however the little one wants to come out early and be a Dec 2023 baby. Just in time for Christmas and New Year - but in confinement LOL.
The delivery was also a smooth one I would say, she came out within the 3 hours from the time I arrived to the hospital. Although we had to stay for 5 days in the hospital due to her jaundice, but it was all good and were home safe and sound after.

And just like that, my new year 2024 was welcomed with my baby girl and full of things that have never been.

I hope your 2024 will be full of surprises too!

2022 went by in a flash,  spent large indefinite quantity and quality time with my nieces and I even managed to squeeze an adventure time with Emma in Singapore (it was her first overseas trip) and I'm glad to be the first person to have brought her to experience her first art science museum.

I am sad but excited for my best friend who left for Singapore to pursue his career, but at least we'll still have video calls. In 2022, was also a celebratory year for my baobei, whom pursued and graduated her MBAs before heading back to Singapore.

As we dint manage to plan for a group trip, Baobei and I had an impromptu Bangkok trip over the weekends in November. Despite her fear of heights, she had to entertain my photo quest at the highest observation deck - the glass tray area (78th floor!). The view was awe-inspiring, always had a thing for the killer views from observatory deck. Thus far nothing beats the view from the Burj Khalifa, may I continue to have the opportunity and undaunted spirit for these adventures.

Although its March 2023, its not to late to wish everyone a great 2023!

Happy New Year! May every day from here on out be filled with happiness, joy and fun. And most of all, may you have a great year ahead.

»Adapting 2021
Tuesday, September 27, 2022

The year of adapting to the ‘new normal’ and at least for myself, first half of the year spent a lot of times with baby Emma, witnessing her growth and she turned 1 in May (my photo gallery is filled with her photos). Celebrated few birthdays, and Sim’s ROM.

The second half of the year was spent mostly online, because of the spike in cases. Lucky were still able to spend times with people who mattered. The joy came in December, where Elly was born. Christmas was nice, we get to meet three exchange students from Japan and finally able to meet in a big group after such a long time.

Not to say the least, a whole year without travelling.

Better late than never! Trying hard to keep up with annual posting, and to be honest it is even harder to think about the content to fill the page with.

Let's see, 2020 wasn't that bad to start with but it dint get any much better as the pandemic C-19 broke out early in other part of the world and it soon reached Brunei and in lock-down by March. However with the swift response and timely decision made by the Minister(s), the risks here were minimized.

Personal hygiene and social distancing has become a norm throughout 2020, no complaint on that.

The great joy 2020 has bring is when Emma was born! This cheeky little sweetheart brings so much joy to the family, and brought so much closeness despite the situation. She continues to be the sunshine everyday and she just turned 1 last month!

Hoping the rest of 2021 will be exceptionally better, esp for the world.

Take care

A little late for my annual ‘reflection’ post, and it’s already the second month of the year. I hope everyone is celebrating a cheerful and colorful Lunar New Year 😊

2019 is a good year, although not much has changed on the work perspective but the company is still doing considerably good and it shall continue to strive and prosper in the current economy.

So last year’s annual dinner was held in Japan, the trip was short and dash, definitely a place I’d like to go back again for a proper holiday.

First half of the year, we have a new addition to the family; my brother finally agreed to be tied down. Lol It was a long waited joyous celebration for the family (esp. my parent) and can’t wait to meet the little niece / nephew this year!

Late last year, I too became Mrs Lim legally. Then Jeju, with my best clique – find someone who’d tag along for your photo-shoot, they bring so much laughter and love to the set. Really glad that we get to experience it together, including the interrupted hike up the Mt Hallasan but we still managed the Mt Seongsan.

For the coming years, I hope it’s filled with the promises of a hopeful tomorrow and continue to make great memories and be of great support, that embrace the new years with an open heart and go forward with faith, hope and courage.

Happy New Year!

With a new year ahead, it helps to reflect on instances or people that conveys an upside to your life and what are the downside that you are trying to dismiss or fine-tune? In 2018, who or what has been a positive impact in your life and how? That might give you an idea, how to get your 2019 objectives rolling.

It is okay and remind oneself to accept that there are things that can’t be anticipated, controlled or fixed. There will always be occasion that makes you grateful and also hateful, that is part and parcel of life. Neither of that spectrum will last, thus be thankful when you have it and work for it when you don’t – although it is easier said than done, but similar to building a good habit with practice, openness and consistency it will be.

I’m tremendously grateful for the virtuous events that has taken place in 2018, some mishaps along here and there that serves as self-realization / life lessons. Appreciative of the travels, explorations and experiences with those I hold close to heart. Kathmandu trip is definitely one of the highlights, the trekking, the paragliding and the cultural shock too – witnessed an open cremation ceremony (unexpectedly). Beijing with the company was lit too, especially the Great Wall of China (well some section of it). Experienced the awful traffic in Jakarta, the disagreeable tricked in Mui Ne and commuting to work in Singapore was also memorable.

I welcome 2019 with an open heart, hopeful mind, avid attitude and triumph spirit.

Wishing you and those you hold close a healthy and harmonious year ahead.

May you continue to smash those goals, and soar higher in 2019!

Growth, gratitude, focus

A day goes by really quickly, and it’s almost the end of Jan 2018!

A quick look-back to the year 2017, it was kind of a whirl-wind experience in certain part of my life. Nonetheless for most of it, it was a definitely a kind year. I heard 2018 would be even more spectacular, for most of us anyways! I certainly hope it would be. J

I received a pair of hedgehog as gifts, and it took some adjustment and commitment to pet them well. They’ve successfully mated and gave birth to 4 hog-lets. Unfortunately only two (both female) survived, and I will not share the gory details of their misfortune fate. The two was named Mochi & Kimchi; both grew up very healthily throughout the year.

Korea was great; the Cherry Blossom at Jinhae (6hr ride by bus from Seoul) was amazing! Considering it as a first spring season experience, it’s really pretty. Hope to experience autumn in the near future too! Langkawi was showering the whole short days that I was there; maybe it wasn’t a good month to go there but it was organized by Anywhr. Means we dint know the destination until the day before the travelling date. It’s worth the try I would say, for the thrill element – but of course it is still up to individual’s preferences.

Books read– The art of thinking clearly by Rolf Dobell, The power of habit by Charles Duhigg, The Tools by Phil Stutz & Barry Michels (could be beneficial to anyone).

May the New Year be filled with abundance of happy moments, progression, practice gratitude and amazing adventures ahead!
