Better late than never! Trying hard to keep up with annual posting, and to be honest it is even harder to think about the content to fill the page with.
Let's see, 2020 wasn't that bad to start with but it dint get any much better as the pandemic C-19 broke out early in other part of the world and it soon reached Brunei and in lock-down by March. However with the swift response and timely decision made by the Minister(s), the risks here were minimized.
Personal hygiene and social distancing has become a norm throughout 2020, no complaint on that.
The great joy 2020 has bring is when Emma was born! This cheeky little sweetheart brings so much joy to the family, and brought so much closeness despite the situation. She continues to be the sunshine everyday and she just turned 1 last month!
Hoping the rest of 2021 will be exceptionally better, esp for the world.
Take care
xoxo

HAPPY NEW YEARAs we welcome the year
2020,
“May Light always surround you;
Hope kindle and rebound you.
May your Hurts turn to Healing;
Your Heart embrace Feeling.
May Wounds become Wisdom;
Every Kindness a Prism.
May Laughter infect you;
Your Passion resurrect you.
May Goodness inspire
your Deepest Desires.
Through all that you Reach For,
May your arms Never Tire.”
― D. Simone
A little late for my
annual ‘reflection’ post, and it’s already the second month of the year. I hope
everyone is celebrating a cheerful and colorful Lunar New Year 😊
2019 is a good year,
although not much has changed on the work perspective but the company is still
doing considerably good and it shall continue to strive and prosper in the
current economy.
So last year’s annual
dinner was held in Japan, the trip was short and dash, definitely a place I’d
like to go back again for a proper holiday.
First half of the year, we
have a new addition to the family; my brother finally agreed to be tied down. Lol
It was a long waited joyous celebration for the family (esp. my parent) and can’t
wait to meet the little niece / nephew this year!
Late last year, I too became
Mrs Lim legally. Then Jeju, with my best clique – find someone who’d tag along
for your photo-shoot, they bring so much laughter and love to the set. Really
glad that we get to experience it together, including the interrupted hike up
the Mt Hallasan but we still managed the Mt Seongsan.
For the coming years, I
hope it’s filled with the promises of a hopeful tomorrow and continue to make
great memories and be of great support, that embrace the new years with an open
heart and go forward with faith, hope and courage.

Happy
New Year!
With
a new year ahead, it helps to reflect on instances or people that conveys an upside
to your life and what are the downside that you are trying to dismiss or fine-tune?
In 2018, who or what has been a positive impact in your life and how? That
might give you an idea, how to get your 2019 objectives rolling.
It
is okay and remind oneself to accept that there are things that can’t be
anticipated, controlled or fixed. There will always be occasion that makes you grateful
and also hateful, that is part and parcel of life. Neither of that spectrum
will last, thus be thankful when you have it and work for it when you don’t –
although it is easier said than done, but similar to building a good habit with
practice, openness and consistency it will be.
I’m
tremendously grateful for the virtuous events that has taken place in 2018,
some mishaps along here and there that serves as self-realization / life lessons.
Appreciative of the travels, explorations and experiences with those I hold
close to heart. Kathmandu trip is definitely one of the highlights, the trekking,
the paragliding and the cultural shock too – witnessed an open cremation ceremony
(unexpectedly). Beijing with the company was lit too, especially the Great Wall
of China (well some section of it). Experienced the awful traffic in Jakarta,
the disagreeable tricked in Mui Ne and commuting to work in Singapore was also
memorable.
I
welcome 2019 with an open heart, hopeful mind, avid attitude and triumph spirit.
Wishing
you and those you hold close a healthy and harmonious year ahead.
May
you continue to smash those goals, and soar higher in 2019!

Growth,
gratitude, focus
A day goes
by really quickly, and it’s almost the end of Jan 2018!
A quick
look-back to the year 2017, it was kind of a whirl-wind experience in certain
part of my life. Nonetheless for most of it, it was a definitely a kind year. I
heard 2018 would be even more spectacular, for most of us anyways! I certainly
hope it would be. J
I received a
pair of hedgehog as gifts, and it took some adjustment and commitment to pet
them well. They’ve successfully mated and gave birth to 4 hog-lets. Unfortunately
only two (both female) survived, and I will not share the gory details of their
misfortune fate. The two was named Mochi & Kimchi; both grew up very healthily
throughout the year.
Korea was great;
the Cherry Blossom at Jinhae (6hr ride by bus from Seoul) was amazing! Considering
it as a first spring season experience, it’s really pretty. Hope to experience autumn
in the near future too! Langkawi was showering the whole short days that I was
there; maybe it wasn’t a good month to go there but it was organized by Anywhr.
Means we dint know the destination until the day before the travelling date. It’s
worth the try I would say, for the thrill element – but of course it is still
up to individual’s preferences.
Books read– The art of thinking clearly by Rolf
Dobell, The power of habit by Charles Duhigg, The Tools by Phil Stutz &
Barry Michels (could be beneficial to anyone).
May the New
Year be filled with abundance of happy moments, progression, practice gratitude
and amazing adventures ahead!

»Hello 2017

Hello 2017!
Taking the time to pen (more like type) down and wrap up
my 2016.
It is never easy to start something, especially the
opening to a blog posts (LOL!) But nevertheless, I shall start somewhere.
My favorite quotes of the year goes to “It always seems
impossible until it’s done” Nelson Mandela.
So in early 2016, I actually decided to sign up and
learn scuba diving! Very fortunate to meet the lovely instructor Kimmy and
my fellow course mates. Thanks to Yvonne whom actually asked if I’m
interested, without any thought I just said “yes” and I dint regret my yes.
My first pool class experience wasn’t that great, because it was the time
of the month and it wasn’t very comfortable for me personally. Ended up I had to do another class, in order to qualify and
ready for the open sea class – and yes I passed it with flying colors! And
the rest is history.
First experience to dive in the open sea was … no doubt
nerve wrecking, I have so many thoughts running through my head, a lot of
what ifs, and what’s going to happen and etc. But as soon as I got used to
the water, the waves and the breathing – it all just falls into place.
Especially when I see the fishes! Like OMG!! Of course I can’t scream under
water, but was screaming in my mind like 2 years old who’s so excited to do
something new for the first time.
I did multiple dives throughout the year. And I did not
join my course mate when they continued the advance class, as the timing
wasn’t so right for me. But I shall make it happen in due time.
I also went for my first 法會 in Taiwan. It allows me to meet so
many great and kind dharma brothers and sisters. And my mou-liu group was
formed. * haha it was definitely a great experience, for me spiritually and
also mentally. And we got to do some sightseeing and walked around Alishan.
Then I had the change to visit Shanghai thanks to my
ever generous company trip. I’ve been there once, long time ago when I was
in F3 if I’m not mistaken. The only thing I remember from then was, we
visited the Shanghai ocean aquarium where I saw penguin for the first time
and rode on the boat for the sightseeing at the bund! That was so long ago.
But the itinerary was different this time, short but good trip. Went up to
the Oriental Pearl Tower and braved myself to stand on the transparent
observatory deck – it wasn’t as high as Burj Khalifa but this time it’s
TRANSPARENT!! Damn I was scared as F! But still did it anyway, despite the
wind and coldness brrr.
Then I was in Vietnam again, with my travel clique and it’s
all about the FOOD lol. Then I went to Singapore to meet my baobei, and
also to attend the pottery class I registered to. It was a 3 hr class at a
home studio; the host did an introductory to how they started their journey
and taught us the basics and let us tried on the wheeler. So exciting, and I
quite enjoy the wheeler and I’m glad that my bf enjoyed it as much as I did.
Passed 3 out of 6 ANZIIF paper, so 3 more to go. Handed over company sports club to the new committee, so no more supervising or planning for the next 2 years hooray!
All in all, 2016 was also a good year! Will continue to make the years ahead great, and hopefully the same goes to everyone :)
May the new years of roosters brings prosperity to you and everyone around you with abundance of new opportunity, challenges, success and also the agility and determination to conquer it.
XOXO
Lisa

1.Dec
Writing at least a post before the end of current year or the beginning of the new year seems to be a ritual for myself. Instead of journal, I opted to utilize this blog. It is almost the end of 2015, how has the year been to you?
Highlights of 2015:
- been to: Dubai, Vietnam, Melbourne, Singapore, Temburong and Penang
- Met a new friend in Dubai, now a pen-pal (mostly via e-mail) whom's from India. Still writes to each other occasionally to share the culture of our ethnic and country.
- Leap of Faith slide at Atlantis palm
- Riding on a Camel and tried Camel burger
- been to the highest building in the world (at present) as China is building the next tallest building and watching the water fountain
- Creepy tunnel with bat inside
- Skiing at Mt Buller and defeated by the snow storm up on the hill
- seen snow and snow fight for the first time with dear friends
- Canopy walk and waterfall at Temburong
- Cheap and yummy seafood in Labuan
- Tried Muay Thai & Tabatha
- siblings getting their key
I would say I'm content, with all that I have and had. May we all be blessed with the strength to persevere and strive to be a better version of our yesterday. Looking forward to 2016!

2014
Last year was another fairly good year for me,
and I hope it’s the same for you or even better year!
Fortunate enough to travel to two
different countries in the year, to experience the different living pace and to
widen my own perspective about the world, human and life is always fulfilling.
To me travel may be a way of learning new things, and where new adventures
awaits as you may not know what exciting events waiting to be discovered. It is
also a journey of self-discovery for me, where sometimes I’m surprise of how
far I’m willing to venture out things if I really want to (within means of
course). Travelling with friends or colleagues is its own lesson itself, and
sometimes making it a much worthwhile adventure you will never forget.
Attended a close friend’s wedding
near the end of 2014. Witness a beautiful yet simple wedding reception both the
day and night event. And yes, we are at that stage, where most of our close
friends or acquaintances are all ready to tie the knot period. I’m sure many
has been the victim of the question, “When’s your turn?” every single time they
meet someone old, or often after a wedding season. It has definitely cross my
mind no doubt, but as to “when” – probably will say when the times come, you
will know? Not rushing and I will not want to put myself or my partner into
being “pressured” to do something just because we are at the right age or
because everyone is doing it. It shall be at our own term and will, to be
married or not shall not be the concern to others than the one maintaining the
relationship itself.
That aside, to flourish in
relationship shall take two parties’ effort because it is a two way street. Any
kind of relationship is based on trust and requires effort, cause nothing good
in life is free. And I have always been
very blessed to have met so many beautiful people with beautiful soul and to be
able to share similar qualities and grow into a decent person with each other,
to be by each other’s side to face the downs of life and always the one to be
excited with in the goods in life. I think friendship is something that I hold
very close to, besides family because in my opinion I feel that a friend gives
so much more and often underappreciated. Why? Family sticks by you, makes sense
because you’re blood related, and your spouse (partner) will have a legitimate
relationship with you to build a family, but a friend (from stranger to
becoming your friend) is someone with no blood relating stranger to you but can
become the closest extended family you could ever ask for – with no other
obligation/entitlement and yet they’re the one you could depend on when things
go sour (at home or out). I often feel that friendship is such an extraordinary
relationship, because you are not drive by (lust/love/greed/ feelings) but just
genuinely feeling of at ease and content to have such a friend by your side and
that someone you can bitch with without feeling guilty (because they don’t
judge you, and better they join in the bitchin).
But life goes on, and along the way
people tend to move towards their own direction, just be happy for them. Although
it may be saddening where you left things unsaid, but I believe if the time is right we may be
united again in a way or other – if not then I’m glad that I ‘ve get to know
you, and create some story-telling worthy journey together and hope that the
life ahead treats you well and beyond.
